Boats on the water passing me by I only know the ones I spy The sun on the water The trees in the sky Dreaming of you when we pass by Since I have met you girl my world's been upside down I never know what you're doing when you know I'm not around First, you're off with your girlfriends Then you're out with some guys I'm tired of listening to all your lies Steamy summer breezes blow And tantalize my every soul The timely wink of innocent eyes Will set with the sun At the Sunset Paradise Sexy summer breezes blow And tantalize my every soul The timely wink of innocent eyes Will set with the sun At the Sunset Paradise Now we're sipping on coolers and toasting the high Dreaming of times that passed us by And we're gonna love you Gonna set you on fire Enlighten your hearts with our desire

Firefly 03:20
Firefly You fly so high and shine so bright Firefly Glowing seductively in the night You sail a summer breeze at the end of June You play your lover card in the waxing moon Like a Firefly Firefly What smoky secrets will you find Firefly Searching for mystery in the night A thousand colors in your Havana sky Que Bolla baby I love only you tonight You read me tarot cards in your Cuban room You play your lover card in the waxing moon Firefly So bright In the twilight On a warm night I love you Firefly

Bayside 04:41
It's finally Friday Excelsior shore Brute Squad's playing We're hollering for more The boat bar's building Mai Tais And the girls they look so fine The water kissed the sunset Baby, it's time Meet me at Bayside Come down to Bayside Oh yeah It's like a funhouse A roller coaster in the sky Hey Mr. Jimmy It's like the 4th of July But there's a cop on every corner Trying to write a DUI I can't get no satisfaction But I try And I try Tonight at Bayside Meet me at Bayside Oh yeah It's like a funhouse A roller coaster in the sky Hey Mr. Jimmy It's like the 4th of July Meet me at Bayside Last call at Bayside Tonight at Bayside I don't wanna go home Meet me at Bayside I don't wanna be alone Tonight at Bayside I don't wanna go home Last call at Bayside I don't wanna go home Home, yeah

Austin Rain 03:15
I go walking On a famous street Music in the air People shuffling to the beat Then right around the corner, up that way I saw you standing, and I heard you say Austin rain You wash my blues away Stepped in Antoine's Put a Lone Star down I rise up baby When the sun goes down That's when I found you and I felt this way Now thunder and lightning can't keep me away Austin rain You wash my blues away Streets go by, and the rain gets harder But my smile just takes me farther I'm soaking wet And I just don't care Streets go by, and the rain gets harder But tonight you'll be my lover We're soaking wet Without a care I go walking In a Texas town Tried to get lost But I got found And the rain keeps falling This lonely night But I can feel you With all my might It's a rainy night in Austin But that alright And the streets are flooding Austin But that's okay Austin rain You wash my blues away

Dylan Days 03:00
It started in the Village On an old forgotten street A foggy dream, an old guitar Shaggy shoes upon his feet The times they we're a-changin' It was blowing in the wind The day I met Bob Dylan I was barely half of ten And he said Son, you better put those words into a song I'd like to write it for you But I'll just sing along La la la la la la la la la la la la In those Dylan Days Next time I saw Bob Dylan He was wearing Big Pink shoes Robbie, Garth, and Levon laughed Rick and Richard sang the blues Woodstock to Laurel Canyon Muscle Soals, it was there The day I met Bob Dylan There was music in the air It happened in the Cities On an old familiar street People seeking justice From the hands of the police The time they haven't changed that much Answers still up in the wind Today I heard Bob Dylan Cause it's happening again Today I heard Bob Dylan Cause he's teaching us again And I say La la la la la la la la la la la la In these Dylan Days And we're still learning La la la la la la la la la la la la In these Dylan Days La la la la la la la la la la la la In these Dylan Days In these Dylan Days In these Dylan Days

Mist 04:05
In the quiet mist of the morning I heard the wind chimes singing Dancing in the grayness Your body next to mine In the quiet mist of the morning Lying next to you Connecting so completely I'm so happy I woke up with you With you In the quiet mist of the morning I heard you softly breathing Lying in the grayness I saw you slightly smile In the quiet mist of the morning Lying next to you I knew I cared so deeply I'm so happy I'm in love with you With you In the quiet mist of the morning Lying next to you I knew I cared so deeply I'm so happy I married you Married you In the quiet mist of the morning

Walkin' slow Soaking up summertime Ask my soul How am I living life? I've been on this highway for so long Searching for a place I belong Croftville Road Blue water and sunshine Ask my soul To think about what is mine Running fast as sound is getting old On this magic street, time slows down I've been told An old fishing shack about a mile down the road What was his life like a hundred years ago? Did his days fly by? Or did they drift by slow? And did time slow down, when he walked down this magic road? I believe in Croftville Road I belong on a magic road I'll see you on Croftville Road

I'm a Christmas tree And I'm all lit up for you to see Won't you hang your love all over me? I wanna be your Christmas tree My love is evergreen You're the prettiest I've ever seen I want to see you dressed up sparkly I'm just a Christmas tree Tinsel and candy canes Stars and ribbons, and bows Can't hold a candle to meeting you Under the mistletoe Ho ho ho Yours forevermore You're the only one I adore The best that I have ever seen I wanna be your Christmas tree Don't forget to water me Baby, let me be your Christmas tree

about

Early summer 1980s. I’m sitting on a dock on Lake Minnetonka. Yes, that Lake Minnetonka.

A vibrant sunset. Warm breezes on a cool blue lake. Dreamy notes from my guitar drift across the water.

Summer freedom. Sunshine. Music. Laughter. Spontaneous love. A journey to awareness.

Time will pass. Relationships will change. Careers and mortgages will come. But the sweet memories of this summer will last forever.

Sunset Paradise recalls those carfree magical twentysomething summers. Do you remember your magic summers?

This humble musical offering is inspired by the incredible music and steamy summers of the 70s and 80s. The songs were written between 1981 and 2021.

about

Paul Huttner Minneapolis, Minnesota

I'm a professional broadcast meteorologist who loves music.

I've gigged with my 'CCO Blues Band friends for 30+ years.

Like many of us, I suddenly found some unexpected domestic free time on my hands in the last year.

So, why not record some music with my friends?

Sunset Paradise recalls the carefree days of our magical twentysomething summers.

Here's to your magic summers!
